For more than a year I have been looking for any way to read the caller ID on the office phone, it was annoying when you are not able to know who is calling you, and you have to answer... After all, it is your job anyway.
We contacted more than one local distributor in the Sultanate about the matter, and we did not get any response from them.. until someone told us that he would look for a solution, but he would have to change the phone..
But personally, I was not convinced of the idea, so the next stage of research began.
I started searching on Cisco's website for any solution or idea that enables us to read information from the phone, and I found certain phones with some facilities for the disabled, but unfortunately there is no phone equipped with an audio guide, or a screen reader, or any alternative solution.
During my search on the Cisco website, I found a program whose name was mentioned among the pages, and that it is an excellent solution for the visually impaired and the blind. It's an accessaphone.
What is accessaphone
It is a program that is installed on the computer, and after performing some steps, the program can fully integrate with the phone.
How it works.
The program works on Cisco phones, and some other phones, and it can be used by the blind and visually impaired to read the caller's number and others, by your screen reader, and it also works independently.
When a call comes in, the phone rings normally, and a popup will appear on your computer with the caller's number, or if your organization has a local address book, their name.
With accessaphone, you can know the identity of the caller, show the address book and make calls directly from the program.
You can also transfer the call to another number, put it on hold, and call more than one person, if your phone system supports it.
The program also enables you to show call history, know missed calls, control voice mail, and more.
Simply the program gives you full access to the phone from the PC.
Now I am using the program for a trial period, and God willing, I will ask the institution in which I work to purchase the program, due to the great benefit that I will benefit from it.
I hope that I have provided in this post some information about the accessaphone program. I hope to present to you, in upcoming posts, some other solutions that serve the blind employee in the work environment, as technology has greatly facilitated our lives, facilitated our work performance, and created new jobs for the blind.

Very clear sir.
I am very surprised by the companies that provide services like this, with limited technical support, for example. I do not imagine that the number of beneficiaries of services is large, so it is easy to help and win clients and institutions.
It is (capital, cash tail) for sure.
I also register my admiration and encouragement for the transformation that you are experiencing, which is impressive, and requires only some courage in the rest of the institutions.
My sincere thanks and appreciation to you, engineer.

welcome. On.
I am sure that you will be shocked when you read this response of mine; Looking back at the date this topic was written.
I have already passed on the above topic, not so recently, that I do not even remember where I read it.
And after it became a need for me, I remembered the topic, searched for it a bit, and found it here ???? .
I kindly ask you to provide me with what happened during your experience at the time, and its developments: Does the program exist today - does it work with the new generations of desktop phones, and modern (nvda) copies?...etc?
You may need to write a complementary or complementary part of the topic. So that no one else here writes to you about the same topic again after another 8 years ???? .
Please accept that I am late. With abundant thanks and cordiality ☺ .

Hello and welcome Azzan.
I was very pleased with your comment, I did not imagine that this old topic would benefit anyone after such a long period of time.
Regarding your question, we used the program for a period of time, then our mobile devices were updated, and we lost the program. The company provides support for one year, then you can never get support from them except by renewing technical support. The program tried it and it worked until recently, the problem that you may face Institutions are the cost, the cost of the program is large, and although the license is considered permanent, the support, as I told you, is only for one year, then it is renewed at a cost that is not small either, as long as everything you have works, you will not need technical support practically, but when you have a problem with the license Or something, you'll need paid support.
Now we have a new experience, which is a completely virtual phone, that is, you do not have a phone, only a program on the laptop, through which you can do everything, call, receive calls, and more. Maybe I will write about it soon, God willing.
Thank you again for stopping by, and thank you very much for your comment.
