“The Simple Translator” is aptly named, as it is a translator, very simple and easy to use. It is an Arabic-language computer program that is fully compatible with screen readers.
The program can translate texts and files into 106 languages, and it depends entirely on Google Translator.
The program also enables you to obtain the full text of the dialogues of films or videos in which this service exists, and when you get this text, you can translate it using the program itself.
These are the details of the program and how to use it, as the developer wrote it down in the help of the program:
Simple compiler program:
1- Definition:
Name: Easy_Translator v1.0
Supported operating system: Windows 10 (32 and 64 bit).
Size: 13 mb.
Program language: Arabic and it is fully compatible with screen readers.
Developer: Mohamed Hedi Bettaieb (Tunisia).
2- Characteristics and functions:
The program is a modest attempt to localize and simplify the “Google” translator program (or website) as a service for beginners in using technology and those with little knowledge of foreign languages, and it depends entirely on Google Translator and therefore needs an Internet connection to work.
The program contains 3 programs integrated into one program and one window. We choose the program we want using the “menu” which we access with the alt button.
The programs are:
1- Text Translator:
When the program starts, it will open by default to the “Text Translator” program.
You will first find a list of languages that contains 6 languages that you can move between vertically, i.e. with the up and down arrows. The language you will choose is the language you want to translate your text into. As for the language of the original text, the program recognizes it automatically and you do not need to specify it.
After choosing a language, move the tab and you will find an editing box that will receive your text in its original language.
Type your text (or paste it if you copied it from somewhere else) and press Enter.
You will wait for some time to complete the translation process, then the program will transfer you by itself (without any movement from you) to the second editing box in which you will find your text translated into the language you specified, you can read that text inside its edit box as the program will do, automatically and on behalf For you, by copying the translated text into the system clipboard, you can paste that text anywhere you want.
The program will also erase the original text from its edit box to make it ready to receive new text.
And to choose another program, press alt, and you will reach the list of programs that you can move inside with the up and down arrows.
2- File translator:
When you choose the file translator program from the list of programs, the previous window will change and you will first find a list of languages, after selecting the language you want to translate your text file into, move a tab and you will find a button to select your file from your device (supported files are text files .txt only), after you choose Move the file, tap and you will find the “Translate and save the file” button. When you click on this button, a dialog will open for you to choose the name and location of your new file to be stored on your computer. This file will contain a translation of your first file.
If the number of characters in the text of your file exceeds 5000 characters (5000 characters is the maximum set by “Google Translator” to translate any text), the program will inform you with a message that your file is not translatable, and in this case we advise you to divide its text into files that contain fewer characters.
The list of languages in these two programs contains, by default, only 6 languages, while the program supports translation into 106 languages.
You can add any language you want as follows:
Right-click or the Applications button in the list of languages.
Select from the context menu “Add a language”.
– – A list of all the languages supported by the program will open in front of you, choose the language you want from it, then press Enter, and you will find that language has been added to the list of languages in the program.
The “Text Translator” and “File Translator” programs each have their own list of languages, and the way to add a language is the same for the two programs.
- And the apparent name of the language can be changed, and any language can be deleted from the list using the Applications button.
3- Screen translation:
When you choose a screen translation program from the list of programs, you can benefit from the program as follows:
And before explaining how to use the “screen translation” program, what is screen translation?
Subtitle is the text that we find written at the bottom of the screen of some movies or videos, and it represents the text of the dialogue in the movie or video.
When you start the “Screen Translation” program, you will find an edit box in which you put the YouTube video link (the program only supports YouTube videos), then press Enter and wait for some time until the program scans the video. And save this translation with all its details on your computer or move another tab and save that translation in a file that contains only the text of the translation.
After you have a text file containing the text of the video dialogue, you can translate it into any language you want using the translation programs built into the program.
